Occupational qualification certificate can be applied by graduates as well as by people who are already active in the labour market. To obtain an occupational qualification certificate it is required, depending on occupation, to take an exam or to present documents verifying the skills, knowledge and experience.
Occupational qualification certificate
- shows that the person’s skills and knowledge conform to the set occupational qualification standard;
- is issued by the awarding body, who usually is employers or occupational qualification association;
- is entered to the national register of occupational qualifications;
- gives occupational self-confidence;
- gives acknowledgement among professionals of that occupation;
- gives the employer and the customer information on the level of skills and knowledge;
- is an advantage in applying for work in Estonia and abroad;
- can be required for working in some areas.
